This provides notice of the October 18, 2016 General Meeting and the November 15, 2016 Annual Meeting of the members of the Magnolia Community Council for nomination and election of members of the Board of Trustees. Each of these Meetings of the members will commence at 7:00 pm in the Magnolia United Church of Christ, 3500 West McGraw Street, Seattle, Washington 98199.
The Magnolia Community Council is currently conducting its annual nomination and election of members of its Board of Trustees to begin service on January 1 of 2017. The current Board of Trustees has approved an increase in the number of Trustees from 15 to 20, with 10 vacancies to be filled in elections this year.
The Nominating Committee will present to the membership at the October 18, 2016 general meeting its list of ten nominees, consisting of Jessica Gallegos, Christopher Kirk, Aubrey Mandus, Cindy Pierce, Libby Stevenson, Steve DeForest, Richard Piacentini, Bill Stafford, Tom Tanner and Janis Traven.
The Bylaws also provide that any additional member who wishes to be elected a Trustee may be nominated by a petition signed by at least ten members and delivered to the President (Bruce Carter or Tom Tanner, co-Presidents) or by mailing the signed petition to the President, Magnolia Community Council, P.O. Box 99564, Seattle, WA 98139-0564 postmarked on or before November 1, 2016, which is not less than two weeks prior to the Annual meeting to be held on November 15, 2016.
The election of the new Trustees will be held at the Annual meeting, November 15, 2016. The 10 Trustees shall be elected by a majority vote of the members present at the November 15, 2015 annual meeting.
The Bylaws provide that all those residing in or those who are owners of residences in or work in the Magnolia Community are members of the MCC entitled to vote in the elections for Trustees. The territorial limits of the community this organization is intended to serve is the area west of 15th Avenue W., bounded by water and designated by the City as Magnolia.
